These are crazy times.<\/p>\n

The last era the world suffered an incident of this magnitude was almost 80 years ago in World War II and even that ordeal does not indeed compare. This adversary is invisible. Like an spy spy, COVID-1 9 disguises within the picture of health, quietly spreading suspicion and uncertainty.<\/p>\n

A little inspiration from Mr. Rogers <\/p>\n

But in the midst of the crisis, there will be light. I’m reminded of something Fred Rogers once said<\/a> \ud83d\ude1b TAGEND<\/p>\n

“When I was a son and I would interpret scary things in the news, my mother would say to me,’ Look for the helpers. You will ever find people who are helping.’” <\/p>\n

And it is true. For those of you who don’t know Fred Rogers<\/a>, he was the pioneer and emcee of a preschool children’s television show announced, “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, ” which feed from 1968 to 2001, and subject of the recent biopic, “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” In 1969, Rogers was instrumental in convincing the United Nation Senate Commerce Committee to fund the newly formed Corporation for Public Broadcasting<\/a> and his television platform was critically acclaimed for focusing on preschoolers’ feelings and physical concerns, such as death, sibling antagonism, institution enrollment, and divorce.<\/p>\n

Rogers’ quote has remain with me over the years, specially nowadays, so I’ve started looking for the helpers.<\/p>\n

Surrounded by the helpers <\/p>\n

Many young people are reaching out to the elderly in their own communities, offering to go shopping for them, pick up their medicines, or simply stop by to talk through the window so that they don’t feel so isolated. Medical laborers on the front line regularly gamble their own health and that of their loved ones to provide care to COVID-1 9 positive patients.
