This is a bit of an inter-disciplinary question, and it is networking with situates beyond residence 😛 TAGEND <\/p>\n
I have a Mac in the US, and another Mac in another country, be followed by a relative. Both are connected to the internet. I want to be able to see the Mac in the other country as if it were on my local area network. Is this possible? <\/p>\n
I want to be able to send MIDI contents from one Mac to the other for usage by Logic Pro( a digital audio workstation\u2013probably not particularly relevant, but I figured it\u2019s better made very clear ). <\/p>\n
Using Apple\u2019s Audio MIDI Setup, this is already possible\u2013and very nicely modernized !\u2013 but it simply works for computers on the same network. Latency will, naturally, be higher if sends are sent across systems, but this isn\u2019t a concern for my application.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve tried setting up a VLAN, which\u2013from my understanding\u2013would be ideology, but it looks like my Mac does not have any network manoeuvres that allow for VLAN: the dropdown menu for \u201cInterface\u201d is empty. Others across the internet seem to have run into this on their Macs, very \u2026 Still, in theory from what I\u2019ve learned about VLANs, one would work.<\/p>\n
