Madonna<\/strong><\/a> tried to honor George Floyd<\/strong> by sharing a video of her teenage son dancing to a Michael Jackson<\/strong><\/a> song, but social media is a merciless universe \u2026 especially for Madge, these days.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Thursday, before a third night of protests over Floyd\u2019s killing was beginning, Madonna released a 3 and a half-minute clip of her son, David Banda<\/strong>, busting moves to MJ\u2019s \u201cThey Don\u2019t Care About Us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

She wrote \u2026 \u201cAs news of George Floyds brutal murder travels around the world my son David Dances to honor and pay tribute to George and His Family and all Acts of Racism and Discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

While supportive Madge fans applauded the post and were impressed by David\u2019s dancing \u2014 the kid is good \u2014 it didn\u2019t go over well with a lot of other people \u2026 who blasted her response to the hot-button issue as insensitive and clueless.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

April Reign<\/strong>, the activist who created the #OscarsSoWhite campaign, wrote \u2026 \u201cNobody asked Madonna to weigh in today. Not a soul. Unforced errors among public figures have been rampant this month.\u201d Others sarcastically thanked Madonna for \u201cending racism.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

We\u2019ll say this \u2026 Madonna\u2019s timing was not good. She posted the vid right around the time federal and local prosecutors held their news conference<\/strong><\/a> to say they were NOT arresting officer Derek Chauvin<\/strong> yet for Floyd\u2019s death. That non-announcement clearly fueled the rage that turned protests into fiery riots<\/strong><\/a> Thursday night.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

So, yeah \u2026 Madge\u2019s proud mom bit went over like a fart in church for many.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
