Jorge Santana<\/strong> \u2026 the youngest brother of famed guitarist Carlos Santana<\/strong><\/a>, and an accomplished musician on his own, has died \u2026 TMZ has learned.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

His rep John Regna<\/strong> tells TMZ \u2026 Jorge died Thursday of natural causes. Jorge is the youngest of 3 brothers and the second one, after Carlos, to pick up a guitar. Jorge was 14 when he started playing in San Francisco. He\u2019d ultimately join a band in the \u201960s with some high school friends dubbed The Malibus.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The band\u2019s name later was changed in 1970 to Malo \u2026 with help from the band\u2019s frontman\u2019s mother who\u2019d scream at them \u201cTodos ustedes son malo!<\/em>\u201d meaning they\u2019re awful.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Malo signed with Warner Bros and its self-titled album included the top 20 hit \u201cSuavecito\u201d \u2026 known as the Chicano national anthem played at carne asada<\/em> kickbacks all over the country. The track was such a huge hit \u2026 Malo would end up performing on \u201cAmerican Bandstand,\u201d in 1972.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Malo would produce 3 more albums before breaking up. Jorge had also been playing in a band called The Fania All-Stars, which ended up playing at the classic Yankee Stadium in 1973 in front of more than 63,000 in attendance.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Five years later, Jorge released 2 solo albums titled \u201cJorge Santana\u201d and in 1979 he dropped \u201cIt\u2019s all About Love.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

He also worked with his famous brother with his management company as a director of artist relations. Jorge toured with Santana but in the \u201990s and they got together for the 1994 album \u201cSantana Brothers\u201d that included their cousin, Carlos Hernandez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Not too long ago, Jorge appeared live occasionally with Malo and performed in front of a crowd that immediately reminisced to their high school days in the \u201970s thanks to \u201cSuavecito.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Jorge was 68. RIP<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
