Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> mentioning Justin Timberlake<\/strong><\/a> at all is one thing, but specifically acknowledging their 2002 breakup in a shout-out video to her ex has everyone\u2019s heads spinning \u2026 and JT LOLin\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Britney\u2019s very bored, said so herself, but boredom wasn\u2019t enough to get her to join TikTok \u201cor whatever the cool thing you\u2019re supposed to do these days.\u201d Instead, Britney went on Instagram and danced along to JT\u2019s track \u201cFilthy\u201d from his last album \u201cMan of the Woods.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

That was pretty significant in and of itself but then she dropped a massive bombshell in her captions saying, \u201cPS I know we had one of the world\u2019s biggest breakups 20 years ago \u2026.. but hey the man is a genius!!!! Great song JT.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

And to everyone\u2019s astonishment \u2026 JT responded with a slew of emojis!!!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Lots to unpack here. It\u2019s the first time Britney\u2019s directly addressed her breakup with JT. They dated for 3 years before their abrupt breakup in 2002. They were both around 21 at the time.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Later that year, Justin dropped \u201cCry Me a River\u201d \u2026 which he wrote in 2 hours. Fans have long suspected it\u2019s about his failed relationship with Britney. A year later, Britney fired back with \u201cToxic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Of course, everyone\u2019s moved on nearly 2 decades later \u2026 Britney\u2019s had 2 kids with Kevin Federline<\/strong><\/a> and she\u2019s been dating Sam Asghari<\/strong><\/a> for a while now. Justin\u2019s married to Jessica Biel<\/strong><\/a> and they have a son together.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

But leave it to Britney to give y\u2019all one helluva #ThrowbackThursday. BTW, in her caption, she also acknowledges that what she\u2019s doing is not really<\/em> dancing.
