That\u2019s Kanye West<\/strong><\/a> \u2026 explaining why he and Kobe Bryant<\/strong><\/a> were one and the same \u2014 LEGENDARY \u2014 and in typical Kanye style, he\u2019s not holding back.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

It\u2019s spelled out in a candid (just released) interview with GQ<\/strong><\/a> that went down back in February, less than a month after his good pal Kobe died in a helicopter crash very close to Kanye\u2019s Calabasas-area home.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

As part of the interview, Kanye agreed to take photos on a basketball court \u2014 and admitted, it was therapeutic.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

\u201cOne thing I thought was really amazing is that we were able to find a groove with the photographs today even as out of it as I was with the loss of Kobe,\u201d Kanye said.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cWe were able to just go to the court and play ball.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Kanye says he often drives on a street near the spot of the helicopter crash \u2026 and it makes him motivated to dominate in life like his friend Kobe did.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no way for me not to be as determined as Kobe every time I drive down that street. It\u2019s game time. There\u2019s no move that we can\u2019t make, or that we\u2019ll wait to make.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Of course, Kanye and Kobe were close friends for years \u2014 they trained together<\/strong><\/a>, starred in Nike commercials together \u2026 and Kanye was even courtside for Kobe\u2019s last game.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Now, Kanye says he continues to draw motivation from Kobe \u2014 attacking challenges in life and business with that trademark Mamba Mentality.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\u201cEveryone in our life is now a member of the Lakers on one of Kobe\u2019s championship teams. The way that Kobe would say that we all have to come together and win this championship is the way I look at life now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

He added, \u201cWe came up at the same time, together. And now it\u2019s like, yeah, I might have had a reputation for screaming about things \u2014 but I\u2019m not taking any mess for an answer now. We\u2019re about to build a paradigm shift for humanity. We ain\u2019t playing with \u2019em. We bringing home the trophies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
