Kelly<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s latest pitch to be released pending his trial in Illinois federal court centers on his fear \u2014 like most Americans \u2013 of coming down with COVID-19.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The disgraced singer\u2019s attorney, Steven Greenberg, filed a motion Thursday in which he refers to coronavirus spreading around the world, and the health risks he believes he\u2019s facing while penned up in Chicago MCC. \u201cNo matter what steps they take the sanitation will be substandard, the risk of an internal pandemic at the MCC is great.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Kelly says social-distancing is near impossible in the jail, soap is only available to inmates who can afford to buy it from the commissary \u2014 and don\u2019t mention hand sanitizer. He claims there\u2019s just ONE large bottle on the visiting floor \u2026 but it is labeled, \u201cSTAFF ONLY.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n He says forcing anyone to remain under these conditions is \u201ctantamount to making them drink poison.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Kelly wants to be released on bond, and says he\u2019s willing to wear electronic monitoring \u2014 although he notes it\u2019s not really necessary, because during the current pandemic he\u2019s a \u201clow risk\u201d to go outside at all.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n As for where he\u2019d live \u2014 Kelly says he\u2019d shack up with his last remaining girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage<\/strong><\/a>, at an apartment complex in Chicago.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n TMZ broke the story \u2026 Kelly\u2019s legal team was blocked from visiting him<\/strong><\/a> in prison last week and it was all due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Kelly\u2019s lawyers had wanted to check on his health while also discussing strategy, given his ever-growing legal mess<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n In the new docs, Kelly points out that keeping his attorneys and other visitors from entering doesn\u2019t solve the problem of possible exposure \u2026 because there\u2019s always new inmates entering.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n As we reported \u2026 Kelly \u2014 currently behind bars in Illinois as he awaits his trial \u2014 recently got slapped with a slew of new charges<\/strong><\/a> by federal prosecutors in NY. The new indictment is related to 2 new alleged victims, one of whom was under 18 when she claimed she had sex with the singer in 2015.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The indictment includes charges of coercion and enticement, coercion of a minor and transportation of a minor across state lines. Kelly\u2019s also been hit with new racketeering charges including allegations he used \u201cforce, threats of force, physical restraint and threats of physical restraint.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
