Country music legend Kenny Rogers<\/strong> died Friday evening at his home, surrounded by his family.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Kenny was under hospice care at the time of his passing \u2026 according to a rep for the singer, who also says Kenny died of natural causes.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The County Music Hall of Famer was known for his impressive string of hits that crossed over to top 40 pop hit radio. The biggest of his 60-year career include, \u201cThe Gambler,\u201d \u201cLucille,\u201d \u201cLady\u201d and his #1 duet with Dolly Parton<\/strong>, \u201cIslands in the Stream.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Kenny has had serious health issues in the past. Back in 2018, he had to cancel the remaining dates of his \u2018Gambler\u2019s Last Deal\u2019 farewell tour due to unspecified \u201chealth challenges.\u201d When he was forced to cancel, Kenny joked, \u201cI didn\u2019t want to take forever to retire.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The iconic singer was born and raised in Houston, and was the 4th of 8 children. He has 5 kids of his own, and got married 5 different times.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Kenny was inducted into the County Music Hall of Fame in 2013, and in 2017 he was inducted into the Texas County Music Hall of Fame. He\u2019s also won 13 American Music Awards, 6 CMAs, and 3 Grammy awards \u2026 2 of them for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n In addition to his sterling career on the mic, Kenny also dabbled in acting, appearing in movies and on TV. Some of his notable acting credits include the title role in \u201cKenny Rogers as The Gambler\u201d and an awesome guest starring spot on \u201cThe Muppet Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Rogers was also a very successful businessman, who co-founded the restaurant chain Kenny Rogers Roasters.
