It\u2019s one of the top sites for those looking for legitimate work at home opportunities<\/a>.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a website where you can get flexible tutoring opportunities.<\/p>\n You just login to the site when it\u2019s convenient for you to tutor.<\/p>\n According to Chegg, its top tutors can earn $1,000 plus a month. Pay starts at $20 an hour.<\/p>\n You can select your best subjects. You can tutor in lots of subjects, like:<\/p>\n You can tutor in 1000s of subjects.<\/p>\n You can work with all student levels too, such as:<\/p>\n To tutor with Chegg, you\u2019ll need to provide any two of the following:<\/p>\n If you sign up with your email, you can submit a photo of yourself holding a government-issued ID, like your passport or driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n Also, you may be asked to take a test to see how proficient you are in the subject you plan to teach.<\/p>\n You can also record and submit a short video introducing yourself and explaining why you\u2019re qualified to teach your selected subject or subjects, along with your application. Your hourly rate will depend on the subjects you teach. There are also incentives available for high-quality tutoring.<\/p>\n Tutor.com doesn\u2019t list its hourly rate. It says that more information about its pay structure will be provided after you have successfully completed the initial application and subject exam phase of the process.<\/p>\n However, I did find some concrete numbers on Glassdoor<\/a>.<\/p>\n On there, pay for tutors at Tutor.com is listed as $12 an hour.<\/p>\n TutaPoint.com doesn\u2019t really give many details about the jobs that it offers. It does have a short page though on its site about becoming a tutor.<\/p>\n It says that you can provide live, internet-based, one-on-one tutoring services for all grade levels. When you\u2019re one of the site\u2019s tutors, students can request instant homework help or schedule a tutoring session at a minimum of 60 minutes a session or up to two hours.<\/p>\n You work with students via a web camera in its virtual online platform. TutaPoint.com works with:<\/p>\n Like I said above, there aren\u2019t many details on the site, regarding things like tutor requirements or pay.<\/p>\n The site says it works with tutors all over the United States, meaning gigs likely aren\u2019t available to people outside of the U.S.<\/p>\n You can find part-time work as an online tutor with Smarthinking.<\/p>\n You can teach in more than 150 subject areas.<\/p>\n It\u2019s looking for:<\/p>\n To teach with Smarthinking, you must have one of the following:<\/p>\n Also, you\u2019ll need to have several years of teaching\/tutoring experience.<\/p>\n Pay is not stated on the site.<\/p>\n Manhattan Prep is a great place to tutor because its pay rate is so high.<\/p>\n You earn $106 to $116 an hour, and you get end of year bonuses.<\/p>\n The hours are also super flexible. Instead, it\u2019s an online services marketplace in educational technology that matches tutors with students.<\/p>\n You can be one of the site\u2019s private tutors in 250+ subjects and test prep. Students can schedule tutors in-person or online. So, if you want to tutor online, then you can.<\/p>\n You can list your tutoring services on Wyzant and build and manage your own tutoring business.<\/p>\n You can create a free online profile on there, that includes pictures, videos, student reviews and more. You can use your profile to showcase your qualifications and experience for potential students to review.<\/p>\n The site says that millions of new students and parents come to Wyzant to find a tutor, and tutors listed on the site have earned more than $64,000,000.<\/p>\n It says that new opportunities are posted all the time \u2013 meaning you can always find work!<\/p>\n All you have to do is create a profile, and students will contact you!<\/p>\n You set your own rates on the site, as I said above. According to Wyzant, its top tutors earn $50,000 a year! Wyzant charges your students, and deposits payment directly into your bank account.<\/p>\n You can tutor students online with Brainfuse Online Tutoring.<\/p>\n To tutor with the company, you must:<\/p>\n Tutors undergo a rigorous selection and training process, which includes background and reference checks, multiple screening interviews, skills testing, and extensive preparation.<\/p>\n Pay for tutors isn\u2019t specified.<\/p>\n You can work as a part-time tutor with StudyPoint. You\u2019ll use the site\u2019s test prep curriculum to teach.<\/p>\n You tutor K-12 students one-on-one in your areas of expertise. With this site, when you are paired with a student, it\u2019s a long-term assignment, rather than just a session or two.<\/p>\n You can schedule sessions that work for you and your students.<\/p>\n To be one of the site\u2019s tutors, you\u2019ll need to have:<\/p>\n The site expects a minimum of six hours of available time for tutoring students. It does have a careers page though just for remote jobs that you can browse for openings.<\/p>\n Next on our list, we have Skooli. This site bills itself as a \u201cdynamic online tutoring space.\u201d<\/p>\n Skooli connects students with online tutors. The site says that it connects students with only the best online tutors, which is why its tutors are paid more than other online tutoring platforms.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll just need a computer and a good internet connection to get started. You can set your own schedule. You can accept sessions when they suit you. Just login and be online when you\u2019re free to accept instant sessions.<\/p>\n The site\u2019s tutors are professional teachers and subject-area experts.<\/p>\n If you want to tutor on the site, you\u2019ll need to have one or more of the following qualifications:<\/p>\n You will also have to get a clear national level criminal reference check.<\/p>\n To get started, you\u2019ll need to set your availability, double check your bio and profile picture, and make sure that your teachable subjects are listed on your profile.<\/p>\n Just go online to accept instant help requests and you\u2019ll start making money tutoring students one-on-one in the Skooli Online Classroom.<\/p>\n Once you\u2019re approved, you\u2019ll need to be active and help new students. The site says that in order to make room for new active tutors and to ensure that students get the help they need, Skooli occasionally removes inactive tutors from the site.<\/p>\n Tutors earn $25 an hour.<\/p>\n Once you\u2019re trained as a PreNow tutor, you will be able to schedule tutoring sessions with students.<\/p>\n To work with the site, you\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n The site doesn\u2019t say what its tutors earn. But according to Glassdoor<\/a> online tutors at PrepNow make $15 to $20 an hour.<\/p>\n Yup is a site that helps students with math.<\/p>\n So, if math is your forte you may want to give the site a try.<\/p>\n It\u2019s an on-demand math tutoring app. With it, when a student needs help with math, they can take a picture of a problem and connect to an expert tutor for 1:1 support.<\/p>\n Tutoring takes place on the student\u2019s phone. As the tutor, you work from your desktop via Yup\u2019s web platform. Students and tutors use tools such as secure messaging and a virtual whiteboard to communicate.<\/p>\n You can work when you want to, which is great.<\/p>\n The application process includes a:<\/p>\n Yup offers the following subjects:<\/p>\n You\u2019re paid monthly through direct deposit or PayPal. The site doesn\u2019t say how much it pays its tutors.<\/p>\n Preply is a website where you can make money tutoring from home. According to the site, its most popular tutors earn up to $550 a week!<\/p>\n That\u2019s pretty great.<\/p>\n It works in a different way to most of the other sites on this list.<\/p>\n It brings together tutors who\u2019re looking to teach with students who\u2019re looking to learn.<\/p>\n Basically, you use the site to find students to teach. Just apply for offers posted on Preply by students.<\/p>\n You create a profile on there, and this is visible in search results and brings new students to you.<\/p>\n You can get a custom domain to promote your services online too.<\/p>\n So, students can see your profile and choose to book lessons with you if they want to.<\/p>\n What\u2019s great about Preply is that you can set your hourly rate and change it at any time.<\/p>\n You get your earnings sent directly from your Preply account to your bank card or account or another wallet of your choosing.<\/p>\n Now, there was something that I noticed on the site:<\/p>\n \u201cPreply takes a 100% commission fee of your first lesson payment with every new student.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n That basically says that with each new student you have to teach the first lesson for free. That\u2019s not really ideal.<\/p>\n That\u2019s why Preply has appeared so low down on our list.<\/p>\n Maybe when you teach your first lesson on the site, it wants you to do it for free so it can gauge your skill level.<\/p>\n After that though, you should really be paid.<\/p>\n It says that for all subsequent lessons, commission varies from 33% to 18%, depending on the number of completed lesson hours with students.<\/p>\n Preply says the more tutoring you do on the site, the less commission you pay.<\/p>\n I\u2019d guess the site wants to keep one tutor working with the same student, hence the 100% commission fee for the first lesson with a student. But still, it seems odd that they\u2019d take a 100% commission fee on your first lesson with every student.<\/p>\n Above, I\u2019ve given you lots of websites where you can find tutoring work. There are also a couple of job platforms that list gigs for tutors.<\/p>\n These are definitely worth checking out because you can find some good jobs on there.<\/p>\n Two places to search for gigs are:<\/p>\n Above, I listed what each site pays, where those numbers were available. Each job pays differently, so giving an exact figure for how much money you\u2019ll make is difficult.<\/p>\n According to figures from PayScale<\/a>, online tutors make $19 an hour. Pay can range from $15 to $20 an hour according to reports.
