An MLS soccer coach is learning the hard way \u2026 DON\u2019T SING ALONG WITH SONGS THAT FEATURE THE N-WORD!!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

FC Cincinnati head coach Ron Jans<\/strong> just resigned after a player complained he used the n-word out loud in the team\u2019s locker-room.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

The player filed the complaint with the Major League Soccer Players Association \u2014 which notified FC Cincinnati team officials \u2026 and an investigation was conducted.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Jans has admitted he used the n-word in the locker-room but insists he wasn\u2019t trying to attack anyone \u2026 he was simply singing along with a song that was playing.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

And no, we don\u2019t know which song he was singing along with (we\u2019re curious too).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Jans spoke with the Cincinnati Enquirer<\/strong><\/a> about the incident and when asked if he has any regrets about the way things went down, he gave this response \u2026<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have sung the word, that\u2019s for sure. I learned that lesson. But I am who I am and if it doesn\u2019t fit in this locker room, I think for a lot of players it was a good match and sometimes an excellent match but not with all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

There are also allegations Jans made insensitive comments about slavery during a team trip to Washington D.C.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Jans was initially suspended pending the results of the investigation, but club president Jeff Berding<\/strong> announced Tuesday the coach has officially resigned.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

\u201cAs Major League Soccer\u2019s investigation unfolded and some themes emerged, Ron offered his resignation and we agreed that it was the best course of action for everyone involved with FC Cincinnati,\u201d Berding said.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

\u201cWe place the utmost importance on a strong culture within our club, beginning in our locker room, and that every person connected with FC Cincinnati feels valued, respected and trusted.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

The statement continued \u2026 \u201cRacial and cultural diversity is a major part of what makes the game of soccer so special, and we place the highest priority on respecting every person involved in our game.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

\u201cThis includes absolutely everyone associated with our club, from our locker room and front office, all the way through to our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

The team announced Yoann Damet<\/strong> will act as interim head coach while conducting an international search for Jams\u2019 replacement.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
