Veteran character actress Esther Scott<\/strong> \u2014 who\u2019s been in countless movies and shows over the years \u2014 has died.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n A member of Esther\u2019s family tells TMZ \u2026 Esther suffered an apparent heart attack last Tuesday at her Santa Monica home, and was later found unconscious and taken to a hospital. We\u2019re told she remained hospitalized for a few more days before eventually passing on Friday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n She was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time she died. Her sister, Shaun, tells us, \u201cShe loved what she did. She would get stopped on the street often and people would recognize her \u2014 but they didn\u2019t know her name. Hopefully now people will remember her name, her work and the contributions she gave to the entertainment industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Esther had a massive resume, having appeared in at least 73 films and shows dating back to the \u201980s. She\u2019s perhaps most well known for her role as Bridget, one of Nat Turner\u2019s relatives, in 2016\u2019s \u2018Birth of a Nation.\u2019 Esther\u2019s been in several other projects, however.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n She\u2019s also been the voice Shodu in the \u2018Star Wars\u2019 animated spin-off, \u201cEwoks\u201d \u2014 and had a memorably hilarious scene in \u201cBoyz n the Hood.\u201d She played the grandmother of a girl who hooked up with Tre, Cuba Gooding Jr.<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s character.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Her resume is crazy impressive, with roles on \u201cEncino Man,\u201d \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210,\u201d \u201cFull House,\u201d \u201cThe Wayans Bros.,\u201d \u201cMartin,\u201d \u201cNash Bridges,\u201d \u201cMelrose Place,\u201d \u201cER\u201d and \u201cThe King of Queens\u201d \u2026 just to name a few.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Esther was 66.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n RIP<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
