TMZ.com<\/span>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n 2 Chainz<\/strong><\/a>, Offset<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>and YG<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>should not be proud of one of their hit songs \u2026 so claims another artist who says the rappers straight-up jacked his work!!!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Solomon Clanton <\/strong>claims in a new lawsuit \u2014 obtained by TMZ \u2014 he released a song called \u201cProud\u201d way back in 2015 \u2026 3 years BEFORE 2Chainz, Offset and YG collab\u2019d on their own track called \u201cProud.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Clanton \u2014 who goes by the stage name Slugga \u2014 claims in his suit, the 2 songs include similar lyrics and music, including the hook and thematic elements.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Slugga notes the 2 songs have identical hooks, \u201cI\u2019m just tryin\u2019 to make my mama proud,\u201d as well as the same call-and-response technique in the lyrics and a spoken-word intro.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n According to the suit, Clanton also claims the 2 tracks have the same climactic moment and the same 2\/4 time signature of two beats per measure.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Clanton wants profits from the Def Jam song, as well as an order from a judge prohibiting 2 Chainz\u2019s \u201cProud\u201d from getting spins.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n We reached out to reps for 2Chainz, Offset and YG \u2026 no word back, so far.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
