Lil Wayne<\/strong><\/a> paid tribute to Kobe Bryant<\/strong><\/a> on his brand new album he dropped TODAY \u2014 laying in 24 seconds of silence on track #8 to show love to the Lakers legend.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Wayne spent years working on the album \u201cFuneral\u201d \u2014 but when he learned about Kobe\u2019s death on Sunday, he connected with Young Money President, Mack Maine<\/strong><\/a>, and they agreed to make last-second changes to honor Bryant.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

The final decision was to lay in a moment of silence for Kobe at the end of the 8th song on the album, titled \u201cBing James\u201d \u2014 24 seconds in total. Obviously, the numbers refer to Kobe\u2019s Lakers jersey numbers, #8 and #24.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Wayne appeared on FS1\u2019s Undisputed on Friday morning and credited the producers who worked on the album for being nimble enough to change up the album just HOURS before it was released \u2026 truly an impressive feat.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Wayne is a huge basketball fan who LOVES the Lakers \u2014 and has been a public Kobe supporter for years. In fact, he dropped a song called \u201cKobe Bryant\u201d years ago.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Wayne also shouts out \u201cBlack Mamba\u201d in the chorus of another song on the new album \u2014 a song called \u201cBall Hard.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Wayne\u2019s \u201cFuneral\u201d album happens to have 24 tracks \u2014 but he told Skip Bayless that was just a coincidence.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
