Michelle Obama<\/strong><\/a> is taking a wholesome approach to the new year \u2014 clinging to the past by working out to songs that are a few to several years old \u2026 most being curse-free.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The former first lady put out her 2020 workout playlist Sunday, and it features a bunch of oldies but goodies \u2026 for millennials, that is. She\u2019s got songs on there that date back to 1990 all the way up to this past year. Most of her tracks are smack dab in the 2010s.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

It\u2019s about that time when New Year\u2019s resolutions get a bit harder to stick to. To offer a little inspiration, I want to share my go-to #WorkoutPlaylist<\/a> with you. Mrs. Obama\u2019s got songs like \u201cFeels Good\u201d (1990), \u201cFeelin\u2019 So Good Remix\u201d (1999), \u201cLose My Breath\u201d (2004), \u201cA God Like You\u201d (2011), \u201c3005\u201d (2013), \u201cLay Me Down\u201d (2013), \u201cGodspeed\u201d (2016), \u201cSlide\u201d (2017), \u201cToast\u201d (2018) and lots of other tracks spanning the decades.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

She\u2019s got more current songs too, but a lot of them are the \u201cclean\u201d versions \u2014 which she made sure to note in her curated playlist. Seems like Michelle doesn\u2019t wanna hear gratuitous cuss words throughout, so she throws on the family-friendly filter for good measure.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Some of those edited songs \u2026 Cardi B<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cPress,\u201d Beyonce<\/strong><\/a> and Jay-Z<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cApesh*t,\u201d Kanye<\/strong><\/a> and Jay\u2019s \u201cClique,\u201d Anderson .Paak<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cCome Down,\u201d Nipsey Hussle<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cHussle & Motivate,\u201d and Eve<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cTambourine.\u201d It\u2019s interesting though \u2026 Meek Mill<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201c24\/7\u201d is as is. Ever heard it?<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

It\u2019s also funny to compare Michelle\u2019s playlist to Barack<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s end-of-year one from a few weeks ago. His tracks appear to be all current (naturally, they\u2019re faves from 2019) and all explicit. There\u2019s no mention of \u201cclean\u201d versions anywhere, so \u2026 parental advisory should be noted.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Don\u2019t try to censor Barry \u2014 give him all the foul language, damn it 😆.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
