TMZ.com<\/span>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\nMac Miller<\/strong><\/a> has a new album coming out a little over a year after his death from an overdose, and his family says a well-known producer was a key figure in bringing it to fruition.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n A message with the news was posted to Mac\u2019s official Instagram account Wednesday, announcing a posthumous record was set to be released on Jan. 17 \u2014 two days before what would\u2019ve been his 28th birthday \u2014 and the project is called \u201cCircles.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n His fam says it\u2019s meant to be a complimentary piece to his last album, \u201cSwimming,\u201d with the idea being \u2026 Swimming in Circles. They also say record producer and composer Jon Brion <\/strong>was a major contributor in completing it.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n They\u2019d worked together, and Jon sat with Mac and heard early versions of some of the songs. Based on their convos \u2026 Jon finished the project with what he believes was MM\u2019s vision for the music.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The family goes on to say while it\u2019s a complicated process of releasing something on behalf of Mac<\/strong><\/a>, they think it\u2019s what he would\u2019ve wanted \u2026 because they know he wanted the world to hear this.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n They specifically mention Mac\u2019s expression of glee when he watched people react to his tunes \u2014 so they hope everyone will listen to \u201cCircles.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n![](\"https:\/\/etrafficlane.com\/newline\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/1578502881_704_Mac-Miller-Posthumous-Album-039Circles039-to-Be-Released-Family-Says.jpg\")
