<\/div>\n<\/section>\nBarack Obama<\/strong><\/a> just announced his favorite movies of the year, and it looks like he\u2019s a mild fan of the studio he and his wife have partnered with to make cinematic magic.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The former Prez released a list of his top movies of 2019, and they include a ton of indie flicks \u2026 most of which were not produced or distributed by Netflix. That\u2019s not to say the company was excluded completely \u2014 four of their movies made it in, including his own.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Of the Netflix titles that were mentioned \u2026 \u201cMarriage Story,\u201d \u201cThe Irishman,\u201d \u201cAtlantics\u201d and the mister and missus\u2019s High Ground Productions documentary, \u201cAmerican Factory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n It\u2019s one of the first projects Barack and Michelle<\/strong><\/a> have produced under their recently announced multi-year deal<\/strong><\/a> with Netflix, and it\u2019s already gotten tons of praise. The doc\u2019s about a shuttered GM plant in Ohio that gets resurrected by a Chinese company, which integrates their own factory workers with Americans in what proves to be a culture clash.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Next up are my favorite movies and TV shows of 2019. Of course, there\u2019s also American Factory, a film from our own production company, Higher Ground, that was recently shortlisted for an Oscar. Here\u2019s the full list: pic.twitter.com\/PEcgwotcxm<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Barack Obama (@BarackObama) December 29, 2019<\/a> Interestingly, there\u2019s more independent movies released under different studios Obama seems to have liked more this year \u2026 like \u201cThe Farewell,\u201d \u201cThe Souvenir,\u201d \u201cFord v Ferrari,\u201d \u201cJust Mercy,\u201d \u201c\u2018Little Women,\u201d \u201cThe Last Black Man in San Francisco,\u201d \u201cBirds of Passage\u201d and others.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n He also released some TV shows he was into, and Netflix made the cut there as well with \u201cUnbelievable.\u201d From a bird\u2019s-eye view, it looks like 44\u2019s got pretty sophisticated taste.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Makes ya wonder what DT\u2019s watching these days \u2026 🤔<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n
