We\u2019re told Chuy was hospitalized Saturday in Mexico City, where he\u2019s been visiting family for the past month.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-36f195ab42f025fe9c711a9125f464d2\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \" readability=\"37\">\n<p>His family members say he came down with a terrible stomach ache Saturday and had to be rushed to an emergency room in town, where he stayed overnight. On Sunday, the family says they were told Chuy had passed away. His exact cause of death is unclear.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-a691a219e1b29cccdf9828ff845bc614\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-youtube-video-block canvas-youtube-video-block-permalink \"\/>\n<section id=\"cb-03d72e31d6e1dab2d86ee38d0fc709d9\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \" readability=\"35\">\n<p>Chuy was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. at age 15. According to Hollywood lore, he wandered onto the set of \u2018Three Amigos\u2019 and decided to get into entertainment. He says he started taking classes and eventually got cast in \u201cAustin Powers in Goldmember.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-44d9e581b9113a3610663ed118eef248\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \" readability=\"39\">\n<p>Other films he\u2019s starred in include \u201cThe Rundown,\u201d \u201cPirates of the Caribbean: At World\u2019s End,\u201d \u201cThe Honeymooners,\u201d \u201cThe Sex Trip\u201d and \u201cTiptoes,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-43095f5c800ae5c6944e3c5dfee6fecd\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-youtube-video-block canvas-youtube-video-block-permalink \"\/>\n<section id=\"cb-d619d29a74d962bf55caf159e801ecfe\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \" readability=\"41\">\n<p>Of course, his big break came from Chelsea \u2014 who featured Chuy for 7 years on her own E! show from 2007 to 2014, during which time he served as her \u201csidekick\u201d and general hype man. He\u2019s almost like<strong> Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong>\u2018s <strong>Guillermo Rodriguez<\/strong>, or <strong>Ellen<\/strong>\u2018s on-stage DJ, <strong>Tony<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-2fee7a34eafac90a24d8a9ae4cb18f3f\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \" readability=\"33\">\n<p>Chuy starred in over 1,000 episodes of \u201cChelsea Lately.\u201d The comedian hasn\u2019t yet commented on his death.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-2c8fe56170dfcdb8f1cfd15e9d359738\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \" readability=\"33\">\n<p>Chuy revealed in 2012 that he was a survivor of prostate cancer, and that he was a recovering alcoholic.
