Getty Composite<\/span>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\nTaylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> laid into Scooter Braun<\/strong><\/a> again \u2014 this time railing on what she calls \u201ctoxic male privilege\u201d in the record industry.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Taylor won the Woman of the Decade Award at Billboard\u2019s Women in Music event in Hollywood at The Palladium.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Her speech went 15 minutes, and she launched another attack against Braun<\/strong><\/a>, who bought Big Machine Records several months ago<\/strong><\/a> \u2026 the company that owns Taylor\u2019s first 6 album masters<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Taylor repeated her claim that Scooter never contacted her prior to him buying the label, and she said she resented record companies treating a singer\u2019s art like a commodity such as a shoe.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n She went on to say no one from Scooter\u2019s camp has ever contacted her or her team prior to the purchase of Big Machine. As we reported, Braun publicly said<\/strong><\/a> a few weeks ago he wanted to sit down with Taylor to resolve things but neither she nor her team ever contacted them.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n She went on to say the definition of toxic male privilege is, \u201cWell, he\u2019s always been nice to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The reaction to Taylor\u2019s speech seemed mixed. When she finished speaking about Scooter, she seemed to wait for applause, and it did not come immediately \u2026 and when it did it was less than thunderous.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n One female exec in the room said afterward, \u201cThe night was supposed to be about inspiration, but it turned into another, \u2018poor little Taylor Swift.\u2019 It\u2019s hard to watch someone who\u2019s had such incredible privilege \u2026 to complain about their own personal issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
