Texas-born Edgar Winter<\/strong> gained fame in the \u201970s when his psych supergroup, The Edgar Winter Group, <\/strong>released rock anthems like the hard-hitting synth smash, \u201cFrankenstein<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d and the blues-riffing \u201cFree Ride<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n While Edgar Winter played practically every available instrument on stage including guitar, synthesizer, keyboard, saxophone and even drums \u2026 he wasn\u2019t alone in the music-making.
