Scottish singer and songwriter Jim Kerr was in his mid-20s when he shot to stardom as the singer of the \u201980s rock band, Simple Minds \u2026. who most notably dropped the stellar single \u201cDon\u2019t You (Forget About Me)<\/strong><\/a>\u201d from the angsty teen movie, \u201cThe Breakfast Club,\u201d soundtrack.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Simple Minds is also known for their other rocking single \u201cAlive and Kicking<\/strong><\/a>\u201d and slightly less rockish and more folkish sad song \u201cBelfast Child<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Kerr still takes the stage with Simple Minds from time to time alongside his OG bandmate, Charlie Burchill, who both founded the band in 1977.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
