TMZ.com<\/span>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n John Singleton<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s estate and the fortune it claims is aboutta get little more flush \u2014 because the studio that distributed one of his biggest films is ponying up some belated cash.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, Sony Pictures has agreed to fork over a little more than half a mil to the late director\u2019s film company, New Deal Productions. The money \u2014 $515,472 \u2014 is tied to John\u2019s 2001 flick, \u201cBaby Boy.\u201d Unleash the behind-the-door Rodney memes!!!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n In case you haven\u2019t seen it, \u2018BB\u2019 stars Tyrese Gibson<\/strong><\/a>, Taraji P. Henson<\/strong><\/a>, Ving Rhames<\/strong> \u2026 and, of course, Snoop Dogg<\/strong><\/a> playing a gangster who\u2019s out to square things with Tyrese<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s character, Jody, who\u2019s got a kid with Taraji\u2019s character, but still lives at home with his mom.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n It made $29.3 million in the U.S. box office, with a budget of around $16 mil. Sony and its subsidiary, TriStar Pictures, were the primary distributors.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Based on the docs, it appears John had requested a formal audit for money the film made a while back, and now in wake of his death \u2026 Sony is settling up with this dough. The company says the settlement was agreed to prior to John\u2019s death in April<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n That\u2019s definitely a nice bonus to John\u2019s net worth, which could reportedly be as high as $35 million. The money\u2019s still gotta be divvied up, per the terms of his will, but more money\u2019s never a bad thing.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
