Robert Evans<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 one of the most successful producers in Hollywood history \u2014 is dead. Evans, who produced such iconic films as \u201cThe Godfather,\u201d \u201cChinatown\u201d and \u201cUrban Cowboy,\u201d died Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n His credits are crazy \u2026 \u201cRosemary\u2019s Baby,\u201d \u201cRomeo and Juliet,\u201d \u201cGoodbye Columbus\u201d and \u201cLove Story.\u201d These movies were shot under his watch as the head of Paramount productions.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Evans actually had issues with \u201cThe Godfather\u201d and some say it was produced over his objections.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Evans started out as an actor, appearing as a bullfighter in Ernest Hemingway<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cThe Sun Also Rises.\u201d He later wrote his memoir, \u201cThe Kid Stays in the Picture,\u201d which later became a documentary film.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n One of the biggest challenges for Evans was filming \u201cThe Cotton Club,\u201d which was considered a nightmare, taking several years to shoot and going way over budget before coming out in 1984 and bombing big.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n His last big hit was Kate Hudson<\/strong><\/a> and Matthew McConaughey<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s romantic comedy, \u201cHow to Lose a Guy in 10 Days\u201d in 2003.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Evans was super close to Jack Nicholson<\/strong><\/a>, whom he often partied with in Hollywood and at his home.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n His only Oscar nom was \u201cChinatown\u201d back in 1975.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
