Shown in an article on printing processes a prize winning poster design from the 1940s for the long-established artists colourmen company Winsor & Newton. The colourful take on an artist’s easel was by the winner of the RSA’s Competition of Industrial Design – an Edward Jeffrey. The only artist and illustrator Edward Jeffery I’ve heard of was the man who drew the 1930s cartoon ‘Toby Twirl’ – does anyone know if this is one and the same? I’m uncertain if this poster or showcard was actually used. <\/p>\n
