Sid Haig<\/strong> \u2014 the guy best known as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cHouse of 1000 Corpses\u201d \u2014 died from intense and chronic heart and lung issues \u2026 TMZ has learned.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

We obtained Sid\u2019s death certificate, issued in Ventura County, CA, and it lists cardiorespiratory arrest as his immediate cause of death. Other contributing factors include respiratory failure, aspiration and aspergillus (mold) pneumonia \u2026 as well as a \u201csmall bowel obstruction.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

He\u2019d been having breathing issues for some time, because the doc<\/strong><\/a> also notes he suffered from COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

As we reported \u2026 Sid\u2019s wife, Suzie<\/strong>, shared the sad news<\/strong><\/a> last month on Sid\u2019s own social media account. She wrote, \u201cOn Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Suzie went on to say, \u201cHe has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be.\u201d Suzie added, \u201cHe adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

As we told you \u2026 Sid had been recently hospitalized and transferred to ICU after he was involved in some sort of accident. On September 6, Suzie was asking for prayers.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Sid, of course, was considered an icon in the cult horror genre.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

He had 149 acting credits to his name \u2026 and besides acting in Rob\u2019s films, Sid also starred in \u201cBone Tomahawk,\u201d \u201cHatchet III,\u201d \u201cThe Lords of Salem,\u201d \u201cDevil in My Ride,\u201d \u201cNight of the Living Dead 3D\u201d and tons of others. He was 80.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
