TMZ Composite<\/span>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n Lil Nas X<\/strong><\/a> and Cardi B<\/strong><\/a> have been hit by a lawsuit claiming their song, \u201cRodeo,\u201d is a rip-off.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Record producer Brandon Lee<\/strong> says he wrote a song called \u201cgwenXdonlee4-142\u201d and it was incorporated into a song called \u201cBroad Day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n After the release of \u201cBroad Day,\u201d Lee says Cardi B and Lil Nas X released \u201cRodeo\u201d this past June.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n When you listen to the 2 songs, they do sound similar.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n Lee says in his lawsuit, they\u2019re both built on a 4-measure phrase outlining the cord progression E, F, G, F, E. He also says the tempo is the same, both songs utilize guitar and wind instruments, the drumbeats are the same, the chord progression is similar \u2026 among other things.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n The lawsuit does not say how Cardi B or Lil Nas X had access to Lee\u2019s song, although Lee does say in the lawsuit \u201cBroad Day\u201d was widely distributed in the hip-hop scene, particularly in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Lee is also suing Sony Music Entertainment and Columbia Records. He\u2019s also suing Cardi\u2019s former manager, Klenord Raphael<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Check out the songs and judge for yourself.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
