Getty<\/span>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n Geena Davis<\/strong><\/a> committed the unholiest of sins \u2014 she lied to Oprah<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 or at least she said so under oath in her nasty marriage\/breakup lawsuit.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n We\u2019ve been reporting on the lawsuit between Reza Jarrahy<\/strong> and Geena for awhile \u2026 he filed for divorce and asked for spousal support and a property split. She says you can\u2019t have a divorce if you were never married, and he ain\u2019t entitled to what he\u2019s asking.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n They allegedly tied the knot way back in 2001, but Geena says they never got a marriage license and never intended to officially get married.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Reza, a prominent L.A. surgeon, filed for divorce<\/strong><\/a> last year, and we\u2019ve now seen Geena\u2019s deposition, in which she says, \u201cWe intended to become married well before I was pregnant \u2026 we did not discuss having a false marriage \u2026 we intended to become married \u2014 to be really married, yes, we did intend that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n During the depo, Reza\u2019s lawyer, Stephen Kolodny<\/strong>, brought up an episode of Oprah in which Geena was a guest. Kolodny said, \u201cYou bragged about your marriage to Reza and what a great husband he was, correct?\u201d She said she hadn\u2019t seen the episode and didn\u2019t recall specifically, but she assumed his description was correct. Then Kolodny drops the hammer \u2014 \u201cYou lied to Oprah?\u201d She responded, \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Geena also concedes she hired a wedding planner, caterers, and even had a Catholic priest participate in the ceremony, exchanging vows and rings.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n Geena claims in her legal docs they never intended to have a legal wedding<\/strong><\/a>. She says on the day of the ceremony they both knew full well it wasn\u2019t a legally binding marriage.
