A$AP Rocky<\/strong><\/a> says race is not an issue in his arrest or detention, TMZ has learned \u2026 but the reality is, he has to say that.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

There\u2019s certainly plenty of smoke \u2026 as we reported, G-Eazy<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 a white rapper \u2014 was arrested in Sweden<\/strong><\/a> for assault and cocaine possession, yet he only spent a day-and-a-half in jail, pled guilty, coughed up $9k and he was on his merry way<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n

A$AP\u2019s been in jail going on 3 weeks<\/strong><\/a> and he hasn\u2019t even been charged, and when that happens it will only be for aggravated assault<\/strong><\/a> \u2026 an assault that was provoked by the alleged victim<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

That said, our A$AP sources say he has made it clear to all in contact with him \u2026 he doesn\u2019t think he\u2019s being held because he\u2019s black. That\u2019s consistently been his story.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Here\u2019s the reality \u2026 if A$AP or his team DARED suggest he\u2019s being held because he\u2019s a black rapper, there would be hell to pay with the prosecutor and probably the judge as well. We\u2019ve spoken with Swedish Embassy and other officials, and they\u2019re all adamant \u2026 they do not discriminate<\/strong><\/a>. If foreigners suggested otherwise in court, our sources say it would be a disaster.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

We\u2019re told A$AP will be charged and will then face 6 years in prison. The best defense they got is provocation by the alleged victim.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

One thing\u2019s clear by now \u2026 all the work the State Dept. and President<\/strong><\/a> have done trying to lobby Swedish officials hasn\u2019t worked<\/strong><\/a> \u2026 in fact, it may have been counterproductive because prosecutors may not like what they consider intermeddling, and the Prime Minister is siding with them.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
