href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/people\/lil-nas-x\/\"><strong>Lil Nas X<\/strong><\/a> has come out as gay \u2014 telling <strong>TMZ Sports<\/strong>, \u201cI think it\u2019s real big!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-58800d242748ced1442e28950e96a43e\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \">\n<p>28-year-old Griner is openly gay \u2014 she\u2019s engaged to longtime girlfriend <strong>Cherelle Watson<\/strong> \u2014 and knows first hand how tough it can be to come out when you\u2019re a big star under the microscope.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-6b6a27395dfa581520efd7dd05176c7b\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \">\n<p>But, the 5-time WNBA All-Star says she\u2019s especially impressed with the \u201cOld Town Road\u201d artist for not letting homophobes and negative gay stereotypes (especially in the hip-hop world) stop him from going public about his sexuality.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-c4e0dae9a3af0777d26972c28b8beae5\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \">\n<p>\u201cI just think it\u2019s awesome he did that,\u201d Griner says \u2026 \u201ctakes a lot of bravery.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-a186988577c4fa80044e4d4a48b8a4e5\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink \">\n<p>Griner says it\u2019s 2019 and people should be able to love who they want to love and be who they want to be without fear of a backlash \u2026 and she thinks Lil Nas X is helping to achieve that goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section \">\n<p>Lil Nas X came out via a social media post on June 30 \u2014 the last day of Gay Pride month \u2014 and we\u2019re told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2019\/07\/01\/lil-nas-x-inspired-reveal-gay-uk-glastonbury-festival\/\"><strong>he was inspired<\/strong><\/a> to do so after such a positive experience performing at the Glastonbury Music Festival in England, which is known for its inclusivity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<p><a
