Common<\/span><\/p>\n Calls Out U.S. Women\u2019s Soccer Critics \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n Stop The Sexism!<\/span><\/p>\n 6\/13\/2019 12:43 PM PDT<\/p>\n EXCLUSIVE<\/span><\/p>\n Common<\/strong><\/a> is sick and tired of watching female athletes get TRASHED by \u201csexist\u201d sports fans who hold the women to a completely different standard than their male counterparts \u2026 and he\u2019s calling for it to end.\u00a0<\/p>\n The rapper\/actor\/social activist was at LAX sporting a shirt that reads, \u201cLove Her\u201d \u2014 so we asked about the U.S. Women\u2019s National Team getting no love from people upset with their 13-0 victory over Thailand.\u00a0<\/p>\n Some critics have called the team classless for celebrating after some of the late goals \u2014 and accused the team of unnecessarily running up the score against an obviously outmatched opponent.\u00a0<\/p>\n But, Common says we should be CELEBRATING the women<\/strong><\/a> and lifting them up for their accomplishments<\/strong><\/a> instead of looking for ways to put them down.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIf they felt like celebrating then they celebrated,\u201d Common explained \u2026 \u201cThey worked hard to get there. If they celebrated, that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n Common also says this latest round of criticism is nothing new \u2014 saying \u201cthe whole country has been sexist\u201d when it comes to sports \u2026 adding, \u201cWe just gotta erase that whole mentality.\u201d<\/p>\n He also compared the plight of female athletes to black athletes \u2014 saying they face similar unfair criticism from the masses.\u00a0<\/p>\n But, check out the clip \u2026 Common says he\u2019s a hardcore feminist and explains why he\u2019s so passionate about the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/h5>\n
