\"bidSome of Elton John<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s extravagant costumes from his rock \u2018n\u2019 roll heyday \u2014 and a unique gift from\u00a0John Lennon<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and Yoko Ono<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 are hitting the auction block, and expected to fetch over $100k.<\/p>\n

Sir Elton\u2019s custom-made gold jumpsuit from his \u201cGoodbye Yellow Brick Road\u201d tour in 1973 is among the showy items up for bid. That alone is expected to go for around $30k. It comes with a sown-in label reading, \u201cElton John \u2014 5-22-73.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Elton<\/a>Another costume expected to get bids in the $20-30k range is the Rocket Man\u2019s \u201cJockey\u201d outfit from a 1980 U.S. tour. It\u2019s a\u00a0Bob Mackie<\/strong>\u00a0original that was previously displayed at the Venice Biennale and Barney\u2019s New York \u2014 so, y\u2019know it\u2019s valuable.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a signed photo from Elton to boxing legend Evander Holyfield<\/strong><\/a> with handwritten lyrics to \u201cMadman Across the Water.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

That all pales in comparison to the standout attraction of GottaHaveRockandRoll.com\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> Elton auction \u2014 namely a handmade collage that John Lennon and Yoko Ono gifted him for his birthday in 1975.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a strange sight to behold \u2014 magazine and newspaper clippings pasted around provocative images and apparent inside jokes, with a headline reading \u201cWho was Mother Goose?\u201d The second piece of the collage includes an Elton John Tour guest pass and a handwritten \u201chappy birthday\u201d note.<\/p>\n

It comes with a letter of authenticity from Elton himself, confirming he received it from the iconic couple on his bday, March 25, 1975.<\/p>\n

The auction house estimates the collage to haul in $40-60k. All the items are up for bid online beginning July 17.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Until then, to get your Elton fix \u2026 the new biopic starring Taron Egerton<\/strong> as Elton hit theaters this weekend, and it\u2019s expected to make some decent coin too. It\u2019s also way easier on your wallet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
