After the immediate success of its late-2000 Volume 5<\/i>, which landed at No. 1 in Billboard<\/i>, the Now That\u2019s What I Call Music!<\/i> series of hit-single compilations isn\u2019t going away anytime soon. Like the previous disc, Now 6<\/i> is front-loaded with teen-pop and dance-floor faves and saves the big rock numbers (U2\u2019s Grammy winner \u201cBeautiful Day\u201d and Now<\/i> mainstays Everclear\u2019s Jean Knight-biting \u201cAM Radio\u201d among them) for last. Its trademark game of catch-up for those whose receivers have been broken for the previous six months is augmented by the very current likes of Shaggy\u2019s \u201cIt Wasn\u2019t Me\u201d and Coldplay\u2019s \u201cYellow.\u201d As usual, hardly anyone is going to love every track here. But as an aural snapshot of what\u2019s up in the mainstream pop world for its moment, no other collection can touch it. \u2013Rickey Wright<\/i><\/p>\n
