Woodstock 50\u2019s primary investor is pulling out all the stops to torpedo the 50th anniversary of the landmark rock festival \u2026 so says the man behind the Woodstock brand.<\/p>\n

Michael Lang<\/strong> \u2014 who spearheaded Woodstock back in 1969, and is producing Woodstock 50 \u2014 is calling out the investment company, Dentsu, for allegedly trying to sabotage the revival scheduled for later this summer.<\/p>\n

According to a letter Lang fired off to Dentsu\u2019s Prez and CEO \u2014 obtained by TMZ \u2014 he had concerns from the get-go about such a large corporation being linked to Woodstock \u2026 and it quickly became a thorn in his side.<\/p>\n

Lang claims for some unknown reason, Dentsu blocked ticket sales<\/strong><\/a> in late April even though the festival had obtained all the necessary permits. He says it also began interfering with the talent lineup \u2026 going so far as to tell bands if they backed out Dentsu would help them land a gig playing the Summer Olympics in 2020 instead.<\/p>\n

Lang claims his worst fears were confirmed when Dentsu then surprisingly decided to pull the plug<\/strong><\/a> on Woodstock 50 and notified the media it was canceling \u2026 without any legal right to do so.<\/p>\n

Even worse \u2014 Lang claims Dentsu \u201cillegally swept approximately $17 million from the festival bank account leaving the festival in peril.\u201d\u00a0 Translation \u2026 Lang is suggesting Dentsu pocketed the money.<\/p>\n

\"ceo\"<\/a>On the bright side \u2014 Lang says these recent obstacles have led to a \u201cgroundswell of support for Woodstock in every conceivable manner, making the prospects of having a successful event a virtual certainty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Translation \u2014 Lang vows to put on Woodstock 50 \u2026 Dentsu be damned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
