\"Albums\"Nipsey Hussle<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0was in the middle of some big plans to give back to his Crenshaw neighborhood with his own foundation \u2026 and now that baton is being passed to his relatives.<\/p>\n

Sources close to Nip\u2019s family tell TMZ \u2026 he was in the process of creating a foundation designed to improve the quality of life in his community \u2014 primarily for young people \u2014 and he started laying the groundwork long before his murder<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nipsey\u2019s vision for his foundation looked something like this: Working with schools to rebuild playgrounds, helping improve public parks in Crenshaw and moving forward with STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs for students.<\/p>\n

Turns out, Nip had already started some of this work. L.A. City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson<\/strong> tells TMZ, the rapper donated shoes to kids at 59th Street Elementary, and also repaved the basketball courts there.<\/p>\n

\"Commissioner\"<\/a>We\u2019re told Nipsey had a total of 14 businesses, but his family is making the foundation their top priority. One of the first things they\u2019ll be addressing is naming the foundation.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

As you know, Nipsey loved giving back to his community \u2026 he opened his Marathon Clothing store<\/strong><\/a> at the intersection of Slauson and Crenshaw, seeing an opportunity to invest in his hood and give people jobs.<\/p>\n

Plus, he was heavily involved in Destination Crenshaw \u2014 a beautification project to turn a 1.3 mile stretch of Crenshaw Blvd. into an open-air art museum. We\u2019re told his family intends to keep contributing to that project.<\/p>\n

\"L.A.<\/p>\n

As we reported \u2026 Nipsey also had a meeting scheduled<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 sadly, the day after his murder \u2014 with L.A. Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff<\/strong> to help prevent gang violence<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, his family will further cement his legacy through the work of his foundation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
