\"BillboardJustin Bieber<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is stomping out any thoughts\u00a0Shawn Mendes<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is the current Prince of Pop \u2014 but the title might be up for grabs \u2026 if Shawn wants to skate for it.<\/p>\n

JB responded to an IG post Shawn threw up on Sunday \u2014 a magazine cover of himself with the headline, \u201cPrince of pop.\u201d Biebs told his fellow Canadian pop star pal to pump the brakes \u2026 \u2019cause Justin insists he\u2019s still the chosen one of the genre.<\/p>\n

According to Bieber, Shawn has a long way to go and a lot more records to break before he can touch the crown. He didn\u2019t seem malicious about it though, describing his ribbing as being delivered in a \u201cCanadian voice\u201d \u2014 something they\u2019d both understand.<\/p>\n

Justin has an interesting proposition for Shawn though, telling him if he wants \u2026 they could decide this Prince of Pop thing once and for all over a game of hockey.<\/p>\n

It sounds like Justin\u2019s taking even more shots, \u2019cause he says he\u2019s heard Shawn\u2019s a \u201cbender\u201d on the ice \u2026 meaning he can\u2019t skate. And, of course, we know Justin can<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album .. I\u2019ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realized and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don\u2019t deserve that and you don\u2019t deserve that, you pay money to come and have a lively energetic fun light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour. I have been looking, seeking, trial and error as most of us do, I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don\u2019t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be. Music is very important to me but Nothing comes before my family and my health. I will come with a kick ass album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable his love is supernatural his grace is that reliable\u2026. the top is where I reside period whether I make music or not the king said so. 👑 but I will come with a vengeance believe that.. FWIW \u2026 it\u2019s understandable why Shawn would think he\u2019s dethroned Justin. Dude hasn\u2019t released very much new solo music since 2015 \u2026 and Shawn\u2019s been grinding nonstop for a while now.<\/p>\n

Granted, JB\u2019s been focusing on<\/strong><\/a> his personal life and well-being \u2014 and ya can\u2019t knock him for that \u2014 but someone was bound to step into the PoP convo eventually.<\/p>\n

If this brings Justin out of hiatus and back into the studio \u2026 bring on the Prince of Pop games!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
