\"#MuteRKelly\"R. Kelly<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s ex-wife claims his abusive ways didn\u2019t end when they got divorced \u2026 she says he tried to control her by cutting her off from child support.<\/p>\n

A rep for Drea Kelly<\/strong> tells TMZ \u2026 the embattled singer knew EXACTLY where to hit Drea where it hurt her most after she spoke out in June 2018 \u2014 on a show called \u201cSister Circle Live\u201d \u2014 and alleged he\u2019d been physically and mentally abusive during their marriage.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re told the singer \u2014 who has 3 kids with Drea<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 had sporadically been paying child support, but lo and behold \u2026 the payments completely stopped<\/strong><\/a> after her interview aired on TV.<\/p>\n

Drea\u2019s team says her career took a hard hit after she had her first kid \u2014 Kelly wanted her to be a stay-at-home mom, set strict rules for her and insisted she only work for him. When the marriage hit rock bottom \u2026 she was a single mother without a job.<\/p>\n

That control didn\u2019t stop after they split \u2014 Drea says Kelly\u2019s unwillingness to take care of his kids was a form of control because he knew damn well she needed his financial support<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

She says sometimes he would pay in full, sometimes late and sometimes nothing at all. Bottom line \u2026 she never knew how much, if any, money they\u2019d have to live on.<\/p>\n

As for Kelly dumping all his problems on Drea \u2014 she says that\u2019s a load of crap<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although he ranted to CBS<\/strong><\/a> that he can\u2019t make money because of her abuse allegations, Drea points out the\u00a0#MuteRKelly movement<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0started well over a year before she spoke out<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
