The world has finally caught up with Slowdive. A band whose reach goes far beyond just influencing music is back, with their first new album<\/a> in 22 years. The album is called Slowdive \u2013 self-titled in an echo of their debut EP from 1990 \u2013 and is remarkably direct. \u201cWe were always ambitious,\u201d says frontman Neil Halstead. \u201cNot in terms of trying to sell records, but in terms of making interesting records. Maybe, if you try and make interesting records, they\u2019re still interesting in a few years\u2019 time.\u201d Now, in 2017, the record is ready and first single from which, \u201cStar Roving,\u201d shot to the top of the Billboard Trending 140 Chart. \u201cThere\u2019s a different energy about it,\u201d says drummer Simon Scott. \u201cIt took ages to get back together and write songs<\/a> and for it to click in the studio, but this album doesn\u2019t feel like a bolt-on \u2013 it\u2019s got an energy that\u2019s as vibrant as Souvlaki and Just for a Day. It feels very relevant to now.\u201d<\/p>\n
