\"ABC\"Singer and actress Charo<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s husband of more than 40 years is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound \u2026 TMZ has learned.<\/p>\n

Kjell Rasten<\/strong> shot himself Monday afternoon around 2 PM in the Beverly Hills home where he and \u201970s icon Charo lived \u2026 according to law enforcement sources. We\u2019re told Charo was home at the time and someone in the house called 911.<\/p>\n

Police and paramedics responded, and Rasten was transported to a hospital, but they were unable to save him. We\u2019re told he was pronounced dead at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Rasten was a TV producer in the \u201970s and \u201980s. He and Charo married in 1978, and had one child together \u2026 actor and producer Shel Rasten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Charo and Kjell, along with their son, appeared on a 2015 episode of the ABC show, \u201cCelebrity Wife Swap.\u201d They swapped with Charo\u2019s old \u201cLove Boat\u201d co-star, Jill Whelan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kjell was 79 years old.<\/p>\n
