Jennifer Lopez<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0hit it outta the park with her Motown tribute at the Grammys \u2026 and anyone who disagrees is missing the point about music and race \u2026 so says\u00a0Whitney Houston<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s sister-in-law.<\/p>\n

We got\u00a0Pat Houston<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0out Monday morning at LAX and got her take\u00a0on the criticism J Lo faced before, during and after she honored Motown \u2026 in the middle of Black History Month.<\/p>\n

J Lo, of course, is of Puerto Rican descent and the Internet\u2019s been teeing off on her and the Grammys<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 but Pat has a different view, which is \u2026 there is NO color when it comes to music.<\/p>\n

Many, many Motown fans disagree, saying things like \u2026 \u201cSorry everyone, but I agree. She\u2019s a great performer, but they should have chosen someone else. No doubt Latinos would be upset if they had a black soul singer doing a tribute to Latin music.\u201d<\/p>\n

As you know \u2026 J Lo hit the stage with Motown legend Smokey Robinson<\/strong><\/a> and Ne-Yo<\/strong><\/a>. Houston\u2019s not the only one supporting her \u2014 Tyler Perry<\/strong><\/a> admits he was skeptical, but adds J Lo won him over.<\/p>\n

I have to say I was on the fence about @JLo<\/a> doing the Motown tribute, not bc she isn\u2019t black but because those are hard songs to take on. Well she made me a believer! SHE KILLED IT!!
