\"actor\"Chris Pratt<\/strong><\/a> is squarely disputing\u00a0Ellen Page<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s claim Hillsong Church \u2014 to which he belongs \u2014 is anti-LGBTQ \u2026 but emphasizing he doesn\u2019t speak for the Church.<\/p>\n

The actor responded to Page\u2019s tweet last week calling Hillsong \u201canti LGBTQ\u201d \u2014 she doubled down over the weekend, saying there\u2019s no excuse for anyone patronizing an org that hates.<\/p>\n

If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don\u2019t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it\u2019s not addressed. Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren\u2019t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop. Sending love to all<\/p>\n

But, Chris says nothing could be further from the truth, adding that Hillsong opens its doors to \u201cabsolutely everyone.\u201d He says that although the Bible teaches divorce is wrong, Hillsong was there through his<\/strong><\/a> every step of the way \u2026 never judging him.<\/p>\n

Hillsong\u2019s Senior Pastor, Brian Houston, said in 2015 \u2026 \u201cWe do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris didn\u2019t address Houston\u2019s comment, and seemed to couch his support, saying, \u201c[N]o church defines me or my life, and I am not a spokesman for any church or any group of people.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

He ended his statement by saying very clearly that he thinks everyone should be able to love whomever they want, free from the judgment of their fellow man.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
