Working online as a freelancer has given me the freedom and flexibility to set my own salary, pursue my interests, work from anywhere and stay in shape. It’s allowed me to spend more time with friends and family, to travel more and to get the sense of reward that comes from owning a business.
Now more and more people are doing the same thing and the ‘gig economy’ is a big buzz word. But I don’t recommend going the ‘uber’ or ‘deliveroo’ route. That’s fine for some people, but it’s ultimately
The gig economy I’m talking about, is the one where you sell your writing, your web design, your programming, your personal training knowledge, your legal skills… whatever… using the web. This video shows why this way of life is not only sustainable but also highly desirable. It’s possibly more stable than traditional employment!
I provide some tips for those starting out (the best sites to use, how to juggle clients, how to negotiate rates) and my personal experiences. Hopefully to help you guys along the way and inspire.
And of course if you want to keep your job and just sell some skills on the side along the way… that’s personally fine too! Your salary and your wealth are not one and the same thing. You can play with the variables.
