Andy Cohen wants boyfriend Kevin Sobieski to understand why a remark on television might land him in trouble, and that means learning a few things about the Real Housewives.
The Watch What Happens Live host, 58, discussed their relationship with Rachel Lindsay on the October 22 episode of The Ringer‘s The Morally Corrupt Bravo Show.
During an August 5 appearance on Today, Cohen said Sobieski, a 42-year-old businessman, had never watched Real Housewives, according to Us Weekly.
“He loves my kids and me, and that’s what’s important,” Cohen said during that appearance, referring to his son, Ben, and daughter, Lucy.
Candiace Dillard Bassett and Lisa Rinna Made an Impression
Cohen said Sobieski had watched The Traitors, where Candiace Dillard Bassett and Lisa Rinna caught his attention. The Peacock competition series brings together personalities from several reality television franchises.
Both women appeared in the show’s fourth season. Dillard Bassett previously starred on The Real Housewives of Potomac, while Rinna spent years on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“These are my girls,” Cohen recalled telling Sobieski, praising the women’s ability to make compelling television. Cohen expects Sobieski to continue watching the competition. Sobieski also receives Bravo-related content in his online recommendations, Cohen said.
Cohen Wanted His Boyfriend at a Housewives Premiere Party
Sobieski has already attended a couple of Watch What Happens Live tapings. There, he met Erika Jayne of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Mary Cosby of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Cohen also asked Sobieski to put a premiere party for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip on his calendar. In Cohen’s account, Sobieski asked why he needed to attend a Housewives party.
Cohen explained that he cared about the women he had worked with for years. Several had regularly asked when he would find a boyfriend. “You’re my guy, so I want them to meet you,” Cohen recalled telling Sobieski.
Sobieski ultimately had to miss the party for a business trip. “He really did,” Cohen said, emphasizing the work commitment.
Cohen and Sobieski Dated Privately Before Going Public
The couple met at a Fourth of July party in the Hamptons in 2025. Cohen had nearly skipped the gathering, hosted by his friend Justin, before deciding to go. Once there, he and Sobieski talked throughout the night. Cohen later recalled entering his number in Sobieski’s phone and asking twice whether he had gotten it right, as Bravo reported.
On June 8, 2026, Cohen confirmed on SiriusXM‘s Andy Cohen Live that he had been dating someone for 11 months. The announcement followed photographs of the pair together in New York City around his birthday.
Cohen praised Sobieski’s kindness, intelligence and maturity, saying they shared a similar outlook on life. He had taken a slow, deliberate approach to introducing Sobieski to his children and described that process as easy.
In July, Cohen shared a photograph of the two on a Hamptons dinner date, captioned “Date Night.” They made their red-carpet debut on August 26 at John Mayer’s SiriusXM concert at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York.
Discussing their public relationship in an interview published by PEOPLE on October 2, Cohen admitted that the attention felt a little scary after a year spent enjoying their privacy. “But, I mean, it’s exciting. He’s great,” he said.
