Ariana Grande’s Fourth of July Outing With Ricky Alvarez Retains Reunion Questions Alive

Ariana Grande spent part of Fourth of July weekend with her ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, adding another public sighting to a recent run of appearances that has fans watching their friendship closely.

TMZ reported that Grande and Alvarez were seen at a Whole Foods in Florida before heading to her parents’ house for the holiday.

Page Six reported that the outing took place in Boca Raton, where the two were photographed carrying groceries and loading bags into a vehicle.

The Fourth of July Outing Followed Recent Tour Sightings

The grocery run came shortly after Grande’s recent Florida dates on her Eternal Sunshine tour. Alvarez is no stranger to the tour scene either, having already been seen with Grande at previous stops.

Page Six reported that Grande and Alvarez were casually dressed for the Whole Foods run, with Alvarez helping load grocery bags before the pair headed to a holiday gathering at her parents’ home.

“Thank U, Next” or is it?

Grande and Alvarez dated from 2015 to 2016, and their relationship later became part of the public history around her 2018 hit “Thank U, Next.” In the original song, Grande references writing songs about Ricky and looking back on that period with a laugh.

PEOPLE reported that the former couple had been “hanging out recently” after they were spotted together in Austin, Texas, ahead of Grande’s June 26 tour stop.

Grande changed Alvarez’s lyric during recent performances of “Thank U, Next.” In Austin, she swapped the old line for warmer versions, including one that said the songs about Ricky still “slap” and another that suggested he still had her back.

TMZ reported that Alvarez attended Grande’s birthday show in Austin after the outlet previously said the two were still spending time together as friends.
