Tom Hardy’s future on MobLand has become almost as tense as the Paramount+ crime drama itself.
The actor is facing new reporting about alleged on-set issues during the show’s second season, including a claim that he refused to leave his trailer for hours and kept major co-stars waiting. The report follows earlier claims that Hardy may not return if the Guy Ritchie-produced series continues beyond season 2.
Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a fixer caught between rival crime families. The series also stars Pierce Brosnan as Conrad Harrigan and Helen Mirren as Maeve Harrigan, which gives the alleged production conflict extra attention because it involves one of Paramount+’s highest-profile casts.
The New Report Centers on a Trailer Standoff
Entertainment Weekly reported, citing The Hollywood Reporter, that Hardy allegedly refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time while filming MobLand. The report said the delays left cast members, including Brosnan and Mirren, waiting on set.
EW reported that a source described the alleged behavior as a “power play.” The same reporting tied the alleged trailer incidents to broader uncertainty around Hardy’s future if the show continues past its completed second season.
Hardy has not publicly given a detailed response to the trailer allegation. Paramount+, 101 Studios, and Hardy’s representatives have also not released a public statement that resolves the competing reports about his status.
Hardy’s Future Beyond Season 2 Is Still Unclear
The clearest confirmed point is that MobLand has already been renewed for season 2. Deadline reported that Paramount+ renewed the series after its breakout first season.
Season 3 is where the reporting becomes more complicated. Esquire noted that Variety reported Hardy had been fired after season 2 production, while The Hollywood Reporter described his job as being in “limbo” and said he had not formally been fired.
That distinction matters. Paramount+ has not publicly announced a season 3 renewal, and the safest current wording is that Hardy’s future beyond season 2 is uncertain amid conflicting reports.
The Allegations Follow Earlier Reports About Producer Tensions
The trailer allegation is not the first report of behind-the-scenes friction. Esquire noted that earlier reports tied Hardy’s uncertain status to alleged clashes involving executive producer Jez Butterworth and 101 Studios.
Those reports also claimed Hardy pushed for changes involving dialogue and the show’s creative direction. The responsible framing is not that every allegation has been publicly proven by the studio, but that multiple outlets are now describing serious alleged production tensions around Hardy’s role.

MobLand premiered on Paramount+ in 2025 and became one of the streamer’s most visible crime dramas. The series follows two rival crime families, with Harry Da Souza operating as a fixer in the middle of the Harrigan family’s escalating war.
The show has a strong entertainment hook beyond Hardy. Brosnan and Mirren give the Harrigan family its star power, while Guy Ritchie’s involvement helped sell the series as a stylish organized-crime drama with international appeal.
That is why Hardy’s reported uncertainty matters creatively. Harry is not a side character. He is one of the main ways viewers enter the criminal world the show built in its first season.
